The Crown organization began with the purchase of a St. Petersburg Pontiac Dealership by Dwayne Hawkins on April 1, 1969. Mr. Hawkins founded the company on the principle that the public is entitled to the best possible service in satisfying its transportation needs. Today, Crown is one of the largest and most respected auto dealerships in the State of Florida, with additional dealership locations in Tallahassee, Ohio, and Tennessee. The Crown Buick GMC dealership now stands on the same property that Crown Pontiac relocated to from downtown St. Petersburg in 1970.

We realize at Crown that our lives are intertwined. Not only through the automobile related work we do but in other ways, such as how our families and yours are supported in our communities through education, the arts, and the great medical services available to all of us.
